During the Yuanzhen period of the Yuan Dynasty (1295-1297), the old Huang Daopo met a sea boat and returned to Wunijing from Yazhou. After returning to her hometown, Huang Daopo saw that the cotton textile technology in her hometown was very backward, so she summarized a complete set of technology according to the local cotton textile production needs, and taught it to the local people, which had a great positive impact on people's life.

Because of this, after Huang Daopo's death, the local people were very sad. People of insight set up steles for her and respected her as "Vega" and "God of cotton first".

For example, Wang Feng wrote in Wuxi collection that after Huang Daopo returned to Wunijing, "she bowed to spin kapok and Zhiya Prefecture was self-sufficient. Huang Daopo has made great contributions to the cotton textile industry and can be said to be a pioneer in the textile industry. It originated from the spinning wheel and waist machine in the Neolithic period 5000 years ago. In the Western Zhou Dynasty, simple reeling wheels, spinning wheels and looms with traditional properties appeared one after another. In the Han Dynasty, people began to widely use Jacquard machines and oblique looms. After the Tang Dynasty, China's textile machines became more and more perfect, which greatly promoted the development of the textile industry.
